The Basic Training Manual
For Combat Cancer Recruitment Officers

Attention!

Your duties are simple. The objective is clear. Should you decide to accept this mission, here are your orders:

Give a Soldier to a brave soul battling cancer, or, to a courageous cancer survivor, who's "been there, done that".

Send a Soldier to a caregiver and thank them for giving up so much to help someone in need.

Share a Soldier with someone who has lost a loved one to cancer and pay tribute to a long, hard fought battle.

Offer a Soldier to a cancer volunteer or supporter so they will be aware of our mission and consider using the inspiring Combat Cancer keepsakes to raise money at their local fundraising events.

These brave Soldiers enlisted voluntarily and will soon be deployed to members of the cancer community all over the world. Just purchase your Soldiers at our "Combat Gear" store and give them to cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, families or friends who have lost someone to cancer, volunteers or fundraising event organizers.

When a Soldier is "shipped out" he will arrive at his designated residence in excellent shape, mentally and physically, with his Military Service Record in hand and all his paperwork in order. Go to the Registration Tent at www.CombatCancer.net and register his name, rank, city and state.

Back at base camp, after a Soldier is registered, you'll be able to look at the Combat Cancer map at any time of the day or night and see exactly where our Soldiers are positioned. And, then, with just a click of your mouse, the Soldiers on the map will proudly reveal their name, rank, city and state. As if to say, "I am right here standing guard and will never abandon my post."

Before too long entire battalions of Soldiers will be stationed all over the 'map' and you'll be able to see for yourself that there IS strength in numbers! It is our hope that, with these "orders" and all the additional funding for research, someday soon cancer will be waving its white flag of surrender.

As a Recruitment Officer, if you can, always have several Soldier Packs with you at all times. Then, when you hear of a friend or loved one whose life has been touched by cancer, your Soldiers will be standing near, ready to be deployed.

There are four Soldier Packs available in our Army Surplus Store where you can purchase "Combat Gear" from the Combat Cancer Collection.

The Corporal Pack This is your basic Soldier Pack. It includes all you need to pass along your care and concern to a friend or loved one. The Corporal Pack includes one Soldier, a Military Service Record and, as with all Soldier Packs, the inspiring verse that our Soldiers carry, can be found on the packaging.

The Captain Pack With camouflage being an essential part of modern military tactics, the Captain Pack offers a Soldier, a Military Service Record PLUS a Green camouflage bandana.

The Colonel Pack To reinforce the Soldier's mission, the Colonel Pack includes a Soldier, a Military Service Record, the green camouflage bandana PLUS An Army Like No Other wallet-sized Keepsake Card as a reminder that your Soldier has been deployed to defeat the enemy.

The Commander Pack This fully-loaded pack will have you standing at attention. The Commander Pack includes one Soldier, a Military Service Record, the green camouflage bandana, a wallet-sized keepsake card PLUS a rubber "camo" wristband with our battle cry "Combat Cancer" embossed on it.

And, while these Soldier Packs are just a few of the Combat Cancer keepsakes we offer, the Soldier is an essential element of our campaign representing, not only the patient's battle, but also the ongoing fight for a cure in the clinics, labs and cancer centers worldwide where their mission is to search & destroy cancer!

From the well-known medical institutes to a laboratory in the basement of a clinic, from some of the greatest minds in medicine to a student graduating from medical school or a chemist on the verge of a discovery -- there is a cure out there, somewhere, it's just a matter of time and so we must forge ahead with assistance and additional funding.

By deploying a Soldier, you are giving someone a little something to hold on to, literally and figuratively. You are placing hope in their hands and, at the same time, you are funding the work of physicians, chemist and scientists who have long been a part of this mission, except their battlefield exists in their research grants, among test tubes and equations, where they work tirelessly to find a cure.

Now, I'm not an oncologist, a scientist or a chemist so what I'm doing to bring my campaign to the front lines pales in comparison to the ongoing work they do.

But, I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a mother-in-law. I've stood by and watched cancer invade my family for far too long. And, like you, I've felt a total lack of control, a complete feeling of helplessness and have cried too many tears. While we have always relied on hope and prayer, I simply had to do something more, and so, the battle begins.

Again, welcome to the Combat Cancer Base Camp. We hope you will march along side us on our campaign where we will never abandon our post or leave anyone behind.

So, forge ahead! Start your recruitment duties today - that's an order!
